I check it to make sure it's clear... Which means that the only time my dust cover is usually closed is when it's put up.

That takedown is unnecessary for myself, and just a bunch of added weight and a potential annoyance down the road. I've been looking for a pistol caliber carbine. If the charger had the longer barrel and no takedown, I would've ordered one already and added a brace.

One exception would be that one of our LGS have lost their minds and are now charging $60 for box of 9mm. In the space of one week they raised their prices 500% on 9mm.
